The University of Cumbria offers a range of short courses and Continuing Professional Development to support your development in Project Management, Project Controls and a range of industrial skills.

Courses

Association of Project Management Qualifications

  • University Certificate Project Controls
    This is a one Semester course for those in employment related to Project Controls or a related area. This programme is aligned with the knowledge and skills required to attain professional qualifications and progress your career in Project Controls.

  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ)
    A two day course designed for those embarking on a project management career or individuals who require recognition for their general project management knowledge and awareness.

  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
    A six day industry course allowing you to attain the Project Management qualification recognised by the Association for Project Management.

  • APM Project Risk Management Level 1 Certificate
    A two day course designed for project and programme managers who are involved in project risk management at any level.

  • APM Project Risk Management Level 2 Certificate
    A two day course designed for project and programme managers who are involved in project risk management at any level. This course builds on the knowledge covered on the APM Risk Management Level 1 Certificate.

  • APM Registered Project Professional
    A pan-sector standard that demonstrates responsible leadership and the competencies necessary for effective project, programme or portfolio management - including the ability to manage a complex project and ability to use appropriate tools, processes and techniques.

Commercial Training

  • Commercial Awareness
    This two-day course will provide delegates with an overview of the key elements of a commercial procurement process
  • Introduction to NEC3
    This one day course on Understanding the NEC3 Contract will equip delegates with an overview of the New Engineering Contract (NEC3) family of contracts and specifically focus on the Engineering and Construction Contract.

 

Project Simulation

A suite of project simulations have been developed with input from industry and client experts with advice from professors at the world’s learning business schools. These are perfect for members of a Project Team to use as a team building tool at project kick-off, or people looking to gain an insight into this environment.
