For students studying at the University of Cumbria exclusively. We offer a wide range of sports award courses throughout the year which are partly subsidised by the Sport and Recreation service.
Coaching courses are suitable for students studying on trainee teacher programmes to give experience of coaching sports to children - having an award boosts your career prospects.
Higher level courses are available for those wishing to pursue a career in coaching.
You are required to pay a fee towards the cost of the coaching course for which you register. The amount you pay varies from course to course depending on which Governing Body is involved in delivery. The charge for courses covers tutor fees and any resource materials. Resource materials are ordered from the Governing Body at least two weeks before a course runs, which are non-returnable and must be paid for. Therefore, it is important that payment is received for courses and that places are filled.
No refund will be given for cancellations made with less that ten working days notice. In extenuating circumstances, a place on a future course may be provided at the discretion of the university.
To book a place on a Sports Award course in Lancaster, please complete the coaching award application form and make payment at the Sports Complex reception, Lancaster (01524 590841).
