Biography

I am the Head of Learning, Teaching and Student Experience for the Instiute of Health. A psychologist by training. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a British Psychological Society Psychometric Test Assessor and Associate Fellow. In 2010 I was awarded British Psychological Society Chartered Scientist Status and in 2008 British Psychological Society Chartership.

Academic and research interests

Criminal Psychology: Complex identitities and victimisation. Domestic abuse in childhood and the adult sequelae.

Therapeutic: Using nature based community projects as therapeutic tools to enhance wellbeing and social connectedness.

Organizational issues: workplace stress, organisational citizenship and job satisfaction.

Research methodology: Traditional methods (Qualitative and Quantitative) and creative methods (e.g. Deliberative Inquiry; Photo-elicitation; Bricolage; Service User Participation).

 

Research supervision

I supervise PhD students and internally and externally examine PhD's.
