Congratulations on receiving an offer to study with us at the University of Cumbria! Find out what you can expect from your Applicant Visit Day.
About Your Day
Joining a university is about more than just gaining a degree, so it's very important that you choose the right one!
At our applicant visit days, you will have the opportunity to experience a taught lecture in your subject area, meet some of our expert and friendly lecturers, and explore the campus and facilities on offer.
In addition, there will be a wide selection of staff from across the university on hand all day at our advice hub to answer any questions that you may have about life on campus.
The day will run from 9.30am to 2pm and a full programme will be provided when you register on the day.
*Please note our Applicant Visit Days are for students who have applied for non-interview courses with the exception of teaching and Youth and Community.
If you have been offered a place on a course that requires a criminal background check (DBS), please bring along your identity documents to your applicant visit day so that we can use them to initiate the process. Instructions on what documents are acceptable and how many we need to see can be found here. Please bring the originals and photocopies and hand them in at the welcome desk on your arrival. You will be able to collect your original documents from the welcome desk later on in the afternoon.
Applicants from Ireland, Isle of Man & Channel Islands
If you live in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, arrangements for checking your ID documents for DBS purposes are different, and you will be offered the chance to do this locally at a later stage. Therefore, you only need to bring along the ID document required for travel and do not need to hand this in to us upon arrival.
