Fusehill Street
A ten minute walk from the railway or bus station and set on the grounds of a previous maternity and wartime military hospital, Fusehill Street is the university’s second largest campus. Home to our Academic Institutes in health, science, business, and education, this campus houses unique facilities, large lecture theatres, and open function areas. For example, the modern Learning Gateway building is the ideal venue for conferences and events with its open plan lobby and dedicated meeting rooms.
On-campus you will find other facilities like our sports centre and gym, halls of residence, The Cube dining area, Calva Bar, and a chapel that are open for guests to use throughout their stay.
The Heart of the University of Cumbria
Home to our bright and airy Learning Gateway building, our Fusehill Street campus offers a lecture theatre for 141 delegates and ten flexi-meeting rooms for between 20 and 32 people. The building also hosts a flexible foyer space, with a range of uses from dining to exhibiting. Other areas on campus are suitable for one-to-one meetings and groups of up to 60 guests.
Our facilities include technical equipment, free wifi, and IT support throughout your event. Please note, we operate contactless parking on campus.
Awarded four stars by Visit England for nine consecutive years, our Carrock Halls of residence is host to 85 ensuite bedrooms and self-catering facilities.
Guests have access to free wifi and a desk in all rooms. Linens and towels are supplied in room, as well as tea, coffee and ironing facilities in a shared kitchen.

If you are arriving at the weekend or outside of office hours, please let the Conference Officer know an estimated time of arrival.
Although our halls of residence include self-catering facilities, we offer a number of catering packages to help you get the most out of your visit. Please contact our conference team for more details.
Our catering team can provide breakfast, buffet lunches, and refreshments direct to your meeting room (please see menu below). However, if meals are not provided throughout the day, overnight guests can request a full English or continental breakfast and dinner during their stay.
The Cube has capacity for 85 guests and is open until 2pm everyday outside of event activities, selling sandwiches, cakes, hot meals, and delicious drinks.

Brampton Road
Our Brampton Road campus is home to the University of Cumbria's Institute of Arts and creative facilities. This includes the Stanwix Theatre which hosts over 70 productions each year and the Vallum Gallery that houses a number of student-made and external exhibitions.
Alongside these spaces, there are large workshop areas with specialist equipment for a variety of creative practices.
Based just outside the city centre and surrounded by greenery, this campus is the place for inspiration and natural beauty. The campus' creative environment stretches into the nearby Rickerby Park and Eden River, a perfect place wind down between events.
A Campus made for Creativity
Our Brampton Road campus is ideal for small events and artistic gatherings with space for up to 75 delegates in our lecture theatres.
Our venue includes technical equipment, free wifi, and IT support to help your day run smoothly. Please note, we operate contactless parking on campus.
Our on-campus accommodation houses 37 ensuite and 76 standard bedrooms for delegates wishing to stay on campus.
All rooms have free wifi internet access and a desk, allowing delegates to work in private and relax at night. Plus, linens and towels are supplied, with tea, coffee and ironing facilities in the kitchen.

The Works dining room has an event capacity of 80. For casual dining, The Works is open until 2pm offering freshly made hot meals, drinks, and snacks.
