How to apply

To complete your UCAS application, you'll need to provide personal information, details about your previous and current qualifications, an academic reference, and a personal statement. The UCAS website has tips and videos to help you with what to include in each section of the UCAS application. You can use UCAS Hub on the UCAS website to apply.

Mature and returning students are welcome to apply through UCAS. You'll still need to meet our academic requirements, but we may be able to be flexible. If you narrowly miss the requirements, contact the Admissions team to see if we can consider your UCAS application. If you don't have A level equivalents, consider completing an Access to HE Diploma. To be fully prepared for undergraduate study, we typically require mature applicants to have recent study experience or professional qualifications and potentially relevant work experience. Contact the course enquiry team with your program interest and qualifications to see what entry requirements apply to you. We can consider a variety of combinations.

UCAS applications are reviewed by the Admissions Team as soon as they receive them from UCAS. A decision is usually made within three weeks, but for some courses, it may take longer if additional factors need to be considered, such as an interview or portfolio assessment. The Admissions Team may also request additional information if needed.

Once our admissions team have processed your UCAS application, we’ll let you know if we’re making you an offer or not, and this will include any conditions you need to meet (for example grade requirements). You will need to accept this offer on UCAS.

If you've experienced exceptional or mitigating circumstances that may have impacted your performance, inform the exam board and us via the Mitigating and Exceptional Circumstances form. You can have your school or college send it on your behalf. We may reach out for more information or evidence.

Take a year off before starting your course with a deferred entry UCAS application. Just make sure to meet the conditions of your offer in the year you applied, as they won't change even though the start date does. For example, if you need BCC grades in 2023 to start your deferred course in 2024, you must still attain those grades to secure your place.
