What did you study at University of Cumbria and why did you pick this course?
Joint Honours Dance and Drama. Being local, I chose this university so that I could continue studying but stay close to home.
What did you do in your spare time as a student?
I took a lot of dance classes and assisted at a local dance school during my time here.
Can you remember any student traditions, did you take part in them?
When we were working on a production, we would get a hoodie or jumper with our names and show name.

Briefly explain what your job entails
Dancing and entertaining all the families that come to see our show.
What is the most satisfying aspect of your job?
I get to do what I love and what I always dreamed of doing.
What were your career ambitions when you started studying and do you think that you have achieved them?
While I was training, all I wanted to do was dance and be on stage. I’ve been fortunate enough to do this for 10 years. I’ve been a redcoat and dancer at Butlin’s, I’ve danced in a resort in Cyprus, worked with Gandey’s Circus and I’ve even been lucky enough to do some television work.
What are you most proud of?
There isn’t a singular thing that I’m most proud of, but I’m proud that I followed my dreams and made them come true.
What are your ambitions for the future?
I would love to have dance as a major part of my life, for the rest of my life. I now teach dancing so hope to help my students follow their dreams and achieve great things.
Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for students today?
Have fun, work hard and take every opportunity that comes your way.
