Q – Can I request a duplicate degree certificate and transcript?

Which one represents you the most:
a. My degree certificate is framed and displayed proudly.
b. It's filed neatly in my record of achievement folder along with my a-level certificates.
c. It’s at my parents' house and I’m sure they have it safe somewhere.
d. Erm, I'm pretty sure I know where it is…
e. Blind panic… the dog ate it/I may have lost it in the move/I have no idea…
No matter which you are... We are here to help you should you ever need a duplicate degree certificate, transcript, proof of placements or an official letter.
All graduates receive their degree certificates along with their transcript through the post at the end of their course.
Degree certificates, official letters and transcripts show the name we had on record for you at the time you were a student, this cannot be changed.
We are able to produce official certificates for University of Cumbria awards ONLY.
The following are available depending on where you studied:
- University of Cumbria from 2007: Duplicate certificates, duplicate award transcripts and full professional transcripts.
- St Martin’s College 1999 to 2007: Confirmation of study available to include marks and grades where available.
- Cumbria Institute of the Arts 2005 to 2007: Confirmation of study available to include marks and grades where available.
I graduated from the University of Cumbria and I need a new degree certificate
We can only produce duplicate certificates for University of Cumbria awards made after August 2007. Please note that there are charges applicable for a duplicate certificate and these requests can take up to 28 working days to complete.
A single duplicate certificate can be requested at a charge of £45.
Many awards after August 2007 were still produced by Lancaster University or the University of Central Lancashire. If you are a graduate of Lancaster University or the University of Central Lancashire, duplicate certificates need to be requested through the appropriate institution.

I did not receive my degree certificate
Certificates and transcripts are sent to the permanent address that the university has recorded for you. If you have moved address and have not notified the university they will have been sent to the last address you advised us of.
Where documents are known to have been produced and dispatched but have not been received, and the university has been notified within one calendar year of dispatch, there will be no charge for the production of a new document. Please contact assessment@cumbria.ac.uk for more information.
Where notification of non-receipt is more than a year after dispatch or where the document has not been received because the university was not informed of an address change, duplicate charges apply. Please visit our online store to order duplicate copies.
Documents which are returned as undelivered are archived. If your document has been archived it will be dispatched free of charge.

I am moving abroad and I require a proof of study official letter
A confirmation of study document can be requested at a cost of £20.
Confirmation of study letters are only available for University of Cumbria students who commenced study from September 2007 onwards.
The letter will confirm your final award classification, along with a list of the modules, marks and grades where available. These documents can take up to 28 working days to produce.

I am applying for teaching jobs and I am required to show proof of the placements I completed
For QTS and PGCE students only (from 2007 onwards). A Confirmation of placement hours document can be requested at a cost of £20.
Confirmation of placement hours will confirm the placement hours completed throughout your programme of study and where available the age ranges for these placements only. This document will not detail the module marks, award classification or award title. These documents can take up to twenty-eight working days to produce. This does not include the delivery period.

I have been asked for a copy of my degree transcript but I cannot find it
Award transcripts can be requested if you graduated or have withdrawn from the University of Cumbria from 2007 onwards. An award transcript can be requested at a cost of £25 per transcript. These documents can take up to 28 working days to produce.
Award transcripts confirm your final award classification along with a breakdown of modules and marks.
Withdrawal Transcripts (for those who left without graduating) will be printed on the official Award Transcript paper, and will include a list of the marks received while studying here, but will not include any final classification.
If you have an additional form or cover note which you need us to include with your transcript order, please email this to assessment@cumbria.ac.uk quoting your order reference number, after you have placed your order. A member of our team will then ensure that this document is sent out with your transcript as required.

I graduated from the St Martin’s College, how can I get a copy of my degree?
We can only produce duplicate certificates for awards from the University of Cumbria from 2007 onwards. If you graduated from St. Martin’s College it is likely that Lancaster University accredited your degree, therefore you will have to request this from Lancaster University.

We can only produce duplicate certificates for awards from the University of Cumbria from 2007 onwards. If you graduated from Cumbria Institute of the Arts it is likely that your degree was accredited by UCLAN, therefore you will have to request your certificate from them.
