Opportunities to work with the University of Cumbria

Join The Project Management Education Team

Are you an experienced project management professional? Do you have proven expertise in project management, as a practitioner or trainer? Are you interested in enhancing the University of Cumbria’s ongoing work with industry partners? Why not join our team?

The University of Cumbria is a modern, ambitious, and thriving university. We are recognised as leaders in the delivery of project management education and qualifications and building lasting relationships with both regional and national employers. The University of Cumbria Project Academy is leading the way for Cumbria to become a centre of excellence for project management education.

Working closely with key employers across private, public, and third sectors, from nuclear to health and construction to local government we are currently recruiting additional associate practitioners, teachers, and trainers to join our growing course delivery team.

Associate Tutors (CPD)

We are strengthening and expanding our team of practitioners and trainers supporting and delivering our rapidly growing portfolio of CPD and professional courses in project management.

Our portfolio of short courses is growing, with increases in the frequency of delivery, and geographical coverage. We want to expand our pool of practitioners and trainers to support that growth. Our current focus is on delivering the existing portfolio, but there may also be opportunities to develop new courses to add to our offer.

Whether you currently work as a trainer and are ready to embrace a new challenge, or you have senior experience working in industry and are looking to share your knowledge and expertise, we would like to hear from you.

Contact Details for CPD and Training Roles: If you would like more information or wish to discuss this further, please contact Steff Hazlehurst, Operations Manager, and Sarah Allison, CPD & Industry Training Manager, by email in the first instance.

Or visit our associate vacancy page for further information and to register your interest by completing the on-line application form.

Teaching Associates

We are seeking experienced project managers or academics with project management related experience to join a pool of Teaching Associate staff who can contribute to teaching and assessment on a regular and an ad-hoc basis. From a practical perspective our modules generally span a period of 6-8 weeks with delivery being a single day each week (typically 9am to 4pm with delivery being online).

In addition to the one day of delivery each week for a module the Teaching Associate role will also require responding to student queries and providing feedback between teaching sessions as well as assessing work submitted. Full guidance on delivery using online tools will be provided for those new to academic practice and you will be supported whilst undertaking assessments.

If you feel you have something to offer our project management learners then please get in touch and then apply to become a Teaching Associate for the University from our vacancy page.

Contact Details for Academic Roles: Please email Charles Dobson, Principal Lecturer in Project Management & Industrial Skills, Institute of Business, Industry and Leadership, University of Cumbria.
