Within organisational cultures, particularly in the context of transformation agendas, there is a need to better understand the liminal spaces that persist despite the widespread adoption of commonly accepted leadership language and mechanisms.

This research adopts a hermeneutical methodology, allowing the topic to speak for itself and providing valuable insights to both the organisation and the researcher.  Informed by widespread consultancy work across multiple organisations including a leadership role within the NHS, and supported by supervisors with extensive healthcare credentials, the research approaches the subject through an acute medical lens.

Supervised by Prof Tom Grimwood (tom.grimwood@cumbria.ac.uk) and Professor Karen Stansfield (karen.stansfield@cumbria.ac.uk).
