Meet Kiran Kadu, a graduate from the BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy. Kiran now works for Integrated Care Services, North Cumbria Integrated Care.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Cumbria. From the very beginning, I felt a strong sense of community and support from both my peers and lecturers. The university provided an excellent balance of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, which allowed me to not only understand the concepts but also apply them in real-world settings.
The course was engaging, with a mix of hands-on learning, case studies, and classroom discussions. I particularly enjoyed the placement opportunities, which gave me invaluable experience working with diverse populations and a chance to develop my clinical skills. The supportive environment at the University of Cumbria meant I always felt encouraged to ask questions and seek guidance, ensuring I was constantly growing as a practitioner.
One of the highlights of my degree was the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals in the field, who shared their insights and expertise, making the learning experience even more enriching. The university's commitment to providing a well-rounded education, with a focus on practical application, meant I graduated with the confidence to step into the workforce and begin making a positive impact in people’s lives.
