I joined UOC in 2007 after 20 years of teaching chemistry and science in secondary schools and in an FE college. Other school roles included subject leadership, mentor for ITE students and teacher governor. My role at the university is programme leader for the school-based secondary PGCE programme. I am also the University Lead Mentor for the Preston Teaching School Alliance based at Broughton High School . Other duties include  delivering chemistry to science PGCE students and delivering generic educational sessions to Lancaster based PGCE students.
