Biography
I qualified as a paramedic in 2017 after studying a BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science at the University of Hertfordshire where I trained with East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
I then started with SWAST, where my career as a paramedic began. I started mentoring university students and really enjoyed it – seeing the progression of a student with little knowledge or skills flourish in to a competent third year was fantastic.
As well as being a Practice Educator for university and apprenticeship students, I became a Lead Paramedic for Learning and Development and was involved with supporting new starters and the NQP preceptorship.
During this time, I had a bank contract with the University of Cumbria as an associate teacher for the apprenticeship. I enjoyed this so much that in January 2024, I decided to become a full-time clinical lecturer for the paramedic apprenticeship.
