Biography
Qualified social worker (1993, Heriot-Watt University) with 28 years experience in Children's Services before joining UoC in 2021. Professional experience within local authorities and central government agencies, ranging from practitioner to senior management.
Qualifications and memberships
Multiple under and post graduate qualifications in social work, child protection, childhood bereavement, public sector management, project management and health research.
Academic and research interests
Social worker connections in the metaverse - making AI real in support of self-actualisation. Staff wellbeing in 21st Century professional practice.
Current research project with Cumbria Wildlife Trust: Nature connectiveness for children's wellbeing on the West Coast of Cumbria (completion date December 2025)
