Biography

I am full-time Senior Lecturer in Midwifery, with responsibility for leading on Module 4080, Universal Care 1; I also support my colleagues in their work on other modules at Levels 4, 5 and 6.

I worked clinically from date of registration in Tertiary (Regional referral) Obstetric Units both in the Northwest of England, and abroad, across a wide range of midwifery care, culminating in Labour Ward Shift Coordinator/Deputy Manager roles. I have also worked as a Community Midwife.

My experiences include Clinical audit, Clinical research, teaching and management roles. I have also worked as a Clinical Consultant in Healthcare IT, and for the International Confederation of Midwives in the Hague, Netherlands, and in Project Management.

I began teaching full time in 2007 and have worked between teaching and clinical practice since then.

I am a great believer in lifelong learning and continue my education both in the field of midwifery practice and other subjects. I am currently working towards further qualifications in French and Coaching.
