Professor Diane Cox, PhD

Biography

Professor Cox graduated from the Welsh School of Occupational Therapy, Cardiff in 1983. Diane worked for 15 years in the NHS, initially in learning disabilities, and then in physical health, developing particular interests in progressive neurological disorder, long terms conditions, specializing in chronic fatigue syndrome.

Diane moved into Higher Education in 1998, at London South Bank University and then the University of Cumbria. Diane has a long track record in publishing with books, chapters and over 50 peer reviewed papers.

Diane became a Professor of Occupational Therapy in 2011. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and was the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Chair of Council for 3 years from June 2019 to June 2022.

As a Professor Emerita Diane continues to support PhD supervision and examination and to support a number of other universities in their staff and research developments.
