Biography

I am a duel trained nurse in both Adult and Mental Health Nursing.I worked as a flight nurse for 7 years, based in the UK, travelling all over the world to repatriate UK citizens who had taken ill or had an accident whilst abroad.I have worked abroad for a brief period and around the UK.


I worked as a Nurse for over 40 years, mostly in the NHS but have worked with some private health care providers.I have worked mostly in acute services, in-patients, Crisis team, Home Treatment Teams and Mental Health Liaison teams based in Accident and Emergency. At the University of Cumbria, I work full time , based at the Lancaster campus as part of the team of Lecturers who teach on the pre-registration BSc(Hons) Degree in Nursing, specialising in Mental Health Nursing.

  • Registered Nurse - Adult, Registered Nurse - Mental Health, Registered Nurse Teacher, HE Fellow Institute of Health.
  • Degree in Psychosocial Interventions.
  • Royal College of Nursing Flight Nurses Award.
  • Neurosurgical and Neuromedical Nursing award
