Biography

I have been providing ambulance-based care since the mid 1990's with one of the voluntary aid societies. This led to me taking a paid role in setting up and developing a commercial ambulance service arm for the organisation to support Oxfordshire Ambulance Service in 2003, a role which also involved training others in ambulance care.

Two years later I joined Avon Ambulance Service NHS trust (South Western Ambulance Service) as a High Dependence Care Technician to become more patient focussed and progress my clinical career.

Since then, I have studied with the Open University to become a Paramedic and topped up my degree to BSc with the University of Cumbria.

Within the NHS, I have held several roles that have included Lead Paramedic, Practice Placement Educator, and Learning and Development Officer.

I have also previously been qualified as an operational commander within the ambulance service.
