Biography

Zoe, says her role entails, “inspiring people and giving them the skills to progress in a profession that is the best in the world,” said Zoe, referring to nursing as well as other pre-registered courses, such as paramedicine.

Zoe Mason is a Registered Nurse and a Senior Lecturer at University of Cumbria. Zoe works within Practice Nursing and Long Term Conditions, and assists with the training of Registered Health Professionals within the Cumbria and Lancashire areas. Zoe also has a background in acute care and Trauma Orthopaedics.

Zoe is a senior lecturer and programme leader for the BSc Practice Development course, supporting individuals to achieve academic progression within the healthcare environment. Zoe's current teaching is focused on Continual Professional Development woth modules including Negotiated Learning, Primary Health, Long term conditions, Behaviour Change and Dissertation.

Zoe has spoken at numerous national conferences, including the World Health Innovation Summit, NHS 70th Anniversary Celebrations, and the International Nursing Education Conference, spreading awareness of her work and raising the profile for current nursing issues. Zoe is currently undertaking her PhD with a specific focus in situational awareness in healthcare education.

With a keen interest in Mental Health provision, Zoe is the lead of the Hot Potato Project, which focuses on developing emotional resilience within young people, therefore improving their overall mental wellbeing and access to further support. The project received national funding and recognition as part of the NHS "Leading Change, Adding Value" campaign.
