Scholarship Information
The University of Cumbria, in partnership with BAE Systems are offering a fantastic BAE Systems Scholarship, for qualifying UK nationals considering undergraduate studying on our qualifying courses in BEng Mechanical Engineering (with Integrated Foundation Year) and BSc Computer Science.
The BAE Systems Scholarship provides students with a non-repayable bursary through the full term of their undergraduate degree. Successful recipients of the scholarship will receive up to £8,000. The below table shows the scholarship breakdown by qualifying course:

The BAE Systems Scholarship provides recipients with the opportunity to complete a 12-week paid placement* with BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness. This placement allows students to work alongside industry experts, gaining hands-on experience in their field. Upon successful completion of the placement, recipients are also guaranteed an interview* with BAE Systems. This scholarship offers an exceptional opportunity to kickstart a career in engineering after graduation.

(*Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants will be required to achieve a level of security vetting. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks)

How to apply
The BAE Systems Scholarship application process will become available upon receipt of an offer from the University of Cumbria for one of the qualifying courses. Information about the scholarship and how to apply will be sent to you at this stage. After you have accepted your offer with UCAS, your application will be sent to the BAE Systems Scholarship team for consideration.
