BSc (Hons) - Midwifery
Are you wondering how to become a midwife?
This midwifery course is an exciting opportunity for healthcare assistants or maternity support workers employed by the NHS to undertake a degree apprenticeship programme in midwifery, with the support of their employer NHS Trust.
Through our midwifery apprenticeship, you will train to become a qualified midwife registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Course Overview
The BSc (Hons) Midwifery Apprenticeship is ideal for healthcare assistants or maternity support workers who would like to train to be a midwife.
Our primary goal is to see learners become competent and compassionate registered midwives, with a sound and current knowledge of issues affecting maternity care.
We support learners closely throughout the apprenticeship, so that on completion of the programme they can confidently step into the role, leading and coordinating the care of women, birthing people and their families.
On this course you will...
- Study a midwifery degree apprenticeship at a university with a long history in educating midwifery learners and other healthcare professionals at a range of levels.
- Be eligible to join the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Register to practise as a registered midwife, on successful completion of the programme.
- Learn from an expert team of lecturers, committed to providing you with the best education and support – we are the largest provider of health professionals in Cumbria and North Lancashire.
- Engage deeply with midwifery knowledge and research, and have the opportunity to get involved with service improvement.
