Course Overview

If you work in Cumbria's vibrant Visitor Economy and are looking to develop your leadership and management skills, The University of Cumbria, in partnership with Enterprising Cumbria, is running our latest Leadership & Management Bootcamp aimed specifically at this sector.

Delivered from our Ambleside campus, this course is aimed at learners who are already employed in the Visitor Economy in Cumbria, and who are looking to progress into a management role.

The course begins with an introduction to the business environment in the visitor economy and then develops knowledge and skills through completing practical exercises over a number of areas in a supportive learning environment.

On this course you will...

  • Reflect on your management skills and develop your skills and understanding of how to manage in a team-based environment
  • Develop your understanding of your own organisation and how to add value to the customer service experience
  • Learn how to use financial and business data to inform effective decision making

What you will learn

The course includes 10 one-day taught workshops focussing on different aspects of leadership and management in the Visitor Economy, and a relevant work-based project. Workshop sessions will include:
