Module - Clinical Complexity in Emergency Care (Level 6)

This module gives you the opportunity to explore the ‘non textbook’ patient, the circumstances around their presentation and how best to proceed with treatment and support whilst still maintaining safe practice and patient centred care.

Clinical Complexity in Emergency Care (Level 6) cover image

During this module you will:

  • Analyse the process of assessment and problem identification in the planning and evaluation of patient centred care.
  • Analyse the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions utilised in the management of the acutely ill adult, acknowledging complex clinical needs.
  • Appraise the key concepts, theories, evidence, guidelines and policy upon which practice is based.
  • Critically analyse how learning from this module has transformed your understanding of your practice.

The topics covered in this module include:
• Clinical assessment and management of the clinically complex patient
• Effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
• Appraisal of the evidence and key policies behind treatment options
• Reflection on own practice

 

 

To be eligible to study this module, you must be working in an appropriate healthcare environment. demonstrate the ability to study at level 6 and commit to attempting the assessment.
