Module - Clinical Complexity in Emergency Care (Level 6)
This module gives you the opportunity to explore the ‘non textbook’ patient, the circumstances around their presentation and how best to proceed with treatment and support whilst still maintaining safe practice and patient centred care.
Course Overview
Have you ever attended a patient who didn’t fit the pathways/ guidelines you would usually base your practice on? Were you left scratching your head and unsure about the best course of action? This module gives you the opportunity to explore the ‘non textbook’ patient, the circumstances around their presentation and how best to proceed with treatment and support whilst still maintaining safe practice and patient centred care.
On this course you will...
- Analyse the process of assessment and problem identification in the planning and evaluation of patient centred care.
- Analyse the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions utilised in the management of the acutely ill adult, acknowledging complex clinical needs.
- Appraise the key concepts, theories, evidence, guidelines and policy upon which practice is based.
- Critically analyse how learning from this module has transformed your understanding of your practice.
