Module - Respiratory Health Assessment Level 6
This Degree level module is part of the Institute of Health's Practice Development Framework. As a registered nurse or allied health professional and as part of your continuing professional development, the module will develop your ability to assess, recognise and manage the healthcare needs of patients presenting with respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD.
Exploration of the respiratory system and pathophysiology. Diagnosis, assessment and management of respiratory conditions. You will be given the choice to focus on one or more of the following conditions: mesothelioma, pulmonary emboli, pleural effusions, pneumothorax, bronchiectasis, bronchiolitis, asbestosis, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, fibrosing alveolitis, respiratory failure, asthma, COPD. Covid related conditions: acute respiratory distress syndrome, pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis.
On this module you will develop your ability to assess, recognise and manage patients’ healthcare needs presenting with a respiratory condition.

What you will learn
This distance learning module will require completion of the formative activities. The selection of a respiratory condition and exploration of this condition.

To be eligible to study this module, you must be a registered nurse or allied health professional.
If you have studied the equivalent module at Level 7 (HCPD7087) then you cannot also study this Level 6 version.
To be eligible to study this module, you must demonstrate the ability to study at this level and commit to attempting the assessment. When taken as part of a specific named award, the module content and assessment must be focussed towards the subject of that award.
