Considering sex work from a criminological perspective
The purpose of this masterclass is to invite students to critically consider a topic which most people have a strong opinion on, regardless of whether they know a sex worker themselves.
Event Overview
The purpose of this masterclass is to invite students to critically consider a topic which most people have a strong opinion on, regardless of whether they know a sex worker themselves. For most of us, the sale of sex is a moralistic issue – simply, it is something which should never be sold.
This masterclass steps away from ‘common sense’ discourses pertaining to those involved in the sex industry and provides evidence from the literature that the current legislation, found on ideas around morality, causes more problems with regards to health and safety than it solves.
This masterclass is available at our Carlisle Fusehill Street Campus or can be delivered at your school or college.
