Social work has a problematic relationship with social media. In theory social media ought to be a great source of information and support for social workers. However, many social workers have found themselves being trolled or threatened by disgruntled service users or have found themselves in trouble with the regulator for making inappropriate posts on social media. This Masterclass will look at the opportunities and pitfalls of social media in social work and the ethics surrounding them.
